The French are well-known for their politeness and courteousness. It
is important to reciprocate this courtesy with some good manners of your
own in order to be respected and treated well during your trip to this
wonderful country. Being polite and knowledgeable of French ways will
open doors for that otherwise would remain inaccessible. This is true
for the tourist as well as for the business traveler. Like in all
countries, it is up to the foreigner to make the extra effort of
integration rather than expecting the locals to treat you in some
special way. This article explains some of the dos and don’ts of a first
meeting with a Frenchman or French woman.
